About BASHATEC

BASHATEC provides low-voltage electrical engineering services for homes, condominiums and commercial spaces: electrical design, installations and switchboards, EV charging, home automation, advice and design for solar self-consumption, energy audits and efficiency, and electrotechnical training. The order matters: calculation and drawing first, building work after.

The lead engineer has 26 years of experience in electrotechnics. That experience covers electrical design since 2001 and installation work since 2015. BASHATEC brings together two trades that are often kept apart: the person who draws the installation knows what it takes to build it, and the person who builds it works from a drawing.

Services are delivered by technicians accredited by DGEG, Portugal's Directorate-General for Energy and Geology, for the design, execution and operation of electrical installations. Those are the three areas in which Portuguese law provides for a responsible technician: whoever designs the installation, whoever builds it and whoever oversees its operation.

• Design before execution. The work starts from sizing. On small jobs, a calculation sheet and a diagram; on larger ones, a full design.
• Named equipment. In our proposals, equipment is identified by make and reference. Inside switchboards we fit Schneider Electric and Hager devices; for vehicle charging sockets, the Legrand Green'Up; for home automation, Shelly devices.
• A documented result. At the end, the circuits are labelled, the switchboard diagram matches what is in the board and the execution documents are handed over.
• What we do not do, said at the start. We are not an on-call service, we do not do small household repairs and we do not install solar panels. We do offer diagnosis and budget estimates.

"Basha" comes from the initials of the members of the family.

We are based in Samora Correia, in the municipality of Benavente. We usually travel up to about 50 km, which covers the nearer Ribatejo, Lisbon and part of the Setúbal peninsula. Larger projects elsewhere in Portugal are considered case by case.
