Privacy

The data controller is BASHATEC, an electrical engineering services business based in Samora Correia, Portugal. For anything concerning your personal data, write to geral@bashatec.pt.

The contact form asks for your name, a phone number or an email address, and your message. The town and the type of project are optional. We ask for nothing else, and suggest you leave out of the message anything that is not needed for the enquiry.

To deliver the pages and protect the service, the platform that hosts the site processes technical connection data, such as the IP address.

We use the data to answer your enquiry: to clarify questions, arrange a visit, prepare a budget estimate. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): steps taken at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract. Where the message is not a request for a service, the basis is our legitimate interest in replying to whoever contacts us (Article 6(1)(f)).

We do not use the data for advertising, we do not sell it and we do not pass it on for other purposes. There is no automated decision-making and no profiling.

There is no legal or contractual obligation to provide it. Without a name and a means of contact, however, we cannot reply.

The message is delivered to BASHATEC's own mailbox and read by whoever deals with enquiries. On the way it passes through two service providers, acting on our behalf:

• Cloudflare, which hosts the site and processes the sending of the form;
• the Portuguese hosting provider that runs our email.

Cloudflare is a company headquartered in the United States and may process data outside the European Economic Area. According to Cloudflare, those transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and on its certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

If you contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email, we use the data you give us for the same purpose. WhatsApp conversations take place on that service, under WhatsApp's own privacy rules.

We do not set a single period; the criterion is need. We keep the message for as long as it is needed to deal with the enquiry. If the enquiry leads to a quotation or to work, the data becomes part of that file and is kept for as long as the contractual relationship and legal obligations, tax obligations in particular, require. Enquiries that went no further are not kept beyond a reasonable time for you to resume contact. You may ask us to delete your message at any time.

You have the right to request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, the restriction of processing, to object to processing and, where applicable, the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, write to geral@bashatec.pt.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Portugal this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD): www.cnpd.pt.

This site uses no cookies and has no visitor analytics. It loads no third-party content: the fonts are hosted on the site itself. That is why there is no cookie notice.
